The Liaison Capitol Hill
415 New Jersey Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20001
February 4-6, 2015
Please plan to attend Magnet Schools of America's National Policy Training Conference February 4-6, 2015 and learn how you can play an important part in the policy making process and be an influential voice for magnet schools. It will be held just blocks from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC at the Liaison Hotel. During the conference you will hear from leading education experts and political insiders who will help you understand the issues that your school or district must pay close attention to in a new political landscape emerging after the midterm elections.
While in the nation’s capital, participants will have the chance to network with other magnet school colleagues from across the country and spend time meeting with their congressional representatives during a “Day on the Hill” coinciding with National Magnet School Month. These hill meetings will be the perfect time to talk about your magnet programs and start building relationships with your elected officials and their staff prior to the next Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant competition. You will also be trained to become effective advocates for your programs at the grassroots level.
