Magnet Schools of America (MSA) is the premier association that provides access to innovative instructional programs that promote equity, diversity, and academic excellence for all students in public choice programs. As a MSA member, you will the following Member Benefits:


Parent Members

Individual Members

  • Technical Assistance and program site evaluations at reduced fees to member districts through the National Institute for Magnet School Leadership (NIMSL) including, but not limited to, magnet school administration, curriculum and instruction, professional development, marketing, recruitment, and student assignment.
  • Leadership training for principals, assistant and aspiring principal, and district administrators at significant savings from professionals and experienced NIMSL Leaders at MSA's Summer National Leadership Academy
  • Opportunities for certificate/graduate course credits (through participating colleges and universities) and CLU's for conference attendees

Institution Members

In addition to all benefits listed above

  • Receives reduction in conference registration fees for all professional staff in the entire school

District Members

Receives all benefits listed above

  • Districts with 100% membership benefit with a lower per-cost for each magnet school
  • Receives recognition at the annual National Conference on Magnet Schools
  • Member Districts may receive reduced-rate consultant services with specific consultants (at their discretion) to include but not limited to: curriculum development, marketing and recruitment, legal consultation, educational and facilities planning, and professional development

Members of Magnet Schools of America will be included on all appropriate mailing lists, and schools may request to be listed on the MSA website.

Members will also receive a reduction (50%) in fees for website postings of position openings.
